It helps regain calm and physiological peace of mind, supporting a restful night’s sleep. Particularly useful in situations of psycho-physical fatigue, nervousness and difficulty managing everyday tensions, student exams, conflicts
The formulation of this plant-based preparation rests on a synergy of extracts traditionally used for their calming and relaxing properties; among the main components are extracts of medicinal plants that act favourably on the nervous system, helping to reduce tension and promoting a state of natural tranquillity. The ingredients are selected to ensure effectiveness and safety of use.
Chamomile is one of the oldest medicinal herbs known to humankind. It belongs to the Asteraceae or Compositae family and is represented by two common varieties, German chamomile (Matricaria recutita) and Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile). The dried flowers of chamomile contain many substances of plant origin, such as terpenoids and flavonoids, which contribute to its medicinal properties. Chamomile extracts, oils and infusions are used for their calming, sedative and antispasmodic qualities; it promotes muscle relaxation and consequently helps sleep. Eschscholzia californica is known for the benefits it brings to the body. This medicinal plant in fact shortens the time taken to fall asleep and promotes physiological sleep in case of stress. It is very effective in insomnia at sleep onset, while it may be less effective in insomnia in the middle of the night and in the early morning. In addition to improving sleep quality, Eschscholzia californica also shows anxiolytic activity, which plays an important role in managing minor sleep disturbances. It can also support the body when sleep disorders are accompanied by cramps (improving the microcirculation and acting as an antispasmodic) and painful symptoms. Thanks to the presence of alkaloids such as protopine, it is used in herbal practice to promote relaxation of the smooth muscle of the intestine, helping to ease cramps, abdominal tension and functional digestive discomfort.
The medicinal plant Eschscholzia californica was first collected in the early years of the 19th century, near San Francisco (California), by Adelbert von Chamisso, during a scientific expedition. He wished to dedicate this discovery to his travelling companion, who was also the head of the expedition, J. F. Eschscholtz, a Russian botanist and entomologist, from whom it took its name. In the past, Native Americans and the first settlers of North America also used the leaves of Eschscholzia californica as food, as if they were a legume, boiling them or cooking them directly on hot stone. From California this medicinal plant was then introduced to Europe at the beginning of the 1800s as an ornamental plant for the beauty of its flower. It is now also grown in Europe, including on our own farm in Sardinia.
Verbena, Melissa and Linden complete the action of this preparation, a useful natural remedy by day and by night. Medicinal herbs offer valuable natural support for promoting physiological relaxation, reducing stress and supporting physiological emotional well-being and mood.
