HERBORIST CHOLESTEROLUM is a food supplement based on plant extracts, useful for purifying the body and helping to maintain normal plasma cholesterol levels. Cholesterol belongs to the family of lipids, or fats; it is one of the components of the cell membrane and is present in the blood and in all tissues. While in physiological amounts it is essential for building healthy cells, when circulating levels are high it is one of the major risk factors for heart disease. Excess cholesterol can in fact cause fatty deposits to form in the blood vessels, also called atherosclerotic plaques, causing heart attack and stroke by blocking the passage of blood, which in turn helps to narrow the vessel lumen.
