Propoli – Erboristeria Officinale

The hydroalcoholic extract of propolis is ideal for soothing inflammation of the throat and mouth, for preventing and treating seasonal ailments and for thinning bronchial secretions in case of cough.

It has antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, healing, analgesic, anti-ulcer, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulating action, and is used mainly for its bacteriostatic activity (to stop germs, bacteria and viruses from multiplying) and bactericidal activity. The main traditional uses are linked precisely to its natural antibiotic action:

  • sore throat (pharyngitis, tracheitis and tonsillitis)
  • respiratory tract disorders (cough and cold)
  • inflammation of the mouth (gingivitis, inflammation of the tongue and palate).
  • cystitis and recurrent cystitis
  • intestinal candida
  • infections of various kinds
  • influenza and parainfluenza viruses
  • herpes simplex

Propolis is active against many fungi that affect the surface layer of the skin, in particular those that cause candidiasis and mycoses.
